Starting June 7 Explore the imaginative and colorful world of Georgia O’Keefe: from landscapes to still life, explore her painting style, use of color and subject matter. Join us for a morning of creative painting and fun. Ages 10-12. Class AC1
Plein Air Painting
Starts June 11
Paint outdoors and learn basic color, value and composition through traditional techniques used in oil painting. Develop the skills necessary for interpreting what you see from life and the methods to simplify what you observe. Learn to paint quickly and loosely. Ages 16-Adult.

Plein Air at the Garden of the Gods
Starts June 13
Four lovely mornings in the Colorado sunshine painting our beautiful Garden of the Gods! We will position ourselves at different vantage points in the park each day. After a short demonstration, you will be free to paint. The instructor will provide individualized instruction. First class will meet at the Garden of the Gods visitor center. Supply list. Theatre Bomb! Creating Original Theatrical Compositions

Take a look at the style and artwork of Mary Chenoweth. The first class will take you on a tour to look at her artwork around town as inspiration. In subsequent classes you will get a chance to create works of your own in mixed media using her style and imagery. Ages 16-Adult. Class AC140

Spend time in the FAC exploring the art of Dale Chihuly. Discover how the fluid line, color and shape makes Chihuly’s glass so breathtaking! Enjoy the liberation of working large and loose in acrylic paints and mixed-media! Ages 16-Adult.

Explore the permanent collection at the FAC and return to the studio to create artwork with a variety of media. Discover pastels, watercolors, charcoal and multi-media materials as we study a new master artist each week for “Sunday at the Museum.” Ages 9-12. Class AC135
Vignettes in the Gallery
Starts May 9
Draw small vignettes in the gallery, explore elements of composition and value with pencils, and develop them into small original drawings inspired by works in the 75th Anniversary exhibit. Da Vinci Club: Space Art

With special guest instructor Monica Petty Aiello. This exciting kid’s camp integrates art and science to teach children about space exploration with a cultural perspective. The camp fuses scientific investigation with a variety of fine art projects including; collage, painting, mixed-media and sculpture. Alien Landscapes

With special guest instructor Monica Petty Aiello. NASA spacecraft have explored our solar system and returned with amazing images revealing awe-inspiring new vistas. Be guided on a visual tour of the solar system and learn about the basic geology on distant worlds. Both planetary science and art-making will be explored in this course taught by contemporary, mixed-media artist Monica Petty Aiello, who will work individually with each student to develop creative ideas and techniques. Egg Tempera/Colored Pencils

Learn the signature painting technique Archie Musick developed with assistance from Thomas Hart Benton. Archie's daughter, Pat Musick, guides participants through the process to produce a small painting. This hands-on workshop will be of interest to practicing painters/ artists as well as art historians and collectors. Participants are encouraged to attend Pat Musick's lecture on the technique on Sunday, July 31. Class PM2

With special guest instructor Pat Musick. Explore the symbols, collections and architecture of the 1936 John Gaw Meem Fine Arts Center building. Enameling--glass fused to metal at high heat--is a durable, colorful medium for murals and architectural decoration as well as for small works. Class PM3
