Collection Spotlight
East Events Gallery
The Collection Spotlight gallery area features different new acquisitions and artworks of special interest from the Fine Arts Center’s permanent collection. This space allows us to bring attention to artistic areas that may not be currently represented in other galleries. Additionally, members of the community, students, docents and staff members will be invited to select a favorite piece from the permanent collection and write an interpretive label in which they can share their views on the piece and why they chose it.
Currently on view is a new acquisition by Mexican-American artist Quintín Gonzáles titled Whims of Zealots. This piece was selected by Curator of Hispanic and Native American Art Tariana Navas-Nieves, and the interpretive label was written by Exhibit Preparator Aaron Jakos.
