Cast Bios

James Amos (Ensemble) has worked with several southern Colorado theatre groups and last was seen in the FAC’s kick-butt production of The Full Monty. When not acting, he performs stand-up comedy and occasional bouts of meaningful work to pay the bills. He thanks his wife, Tracey, and his friends for all the support, and the caring mockery, but mostly the support.

Jeremy Bullock (Ensemble) is new to Colorado Springs and is excited to be in his first show here at the Fine Arts Center. Jeremy received his theatre degree from UNC in Greeley and spent the next several years leading music at a church in southern California. His theatre credits include Emile de Becque in South Pacific, Charlie Cowell in The Music Man, and Mortimer in The Fantasticks. Jeremy is also an avid juggler and unicyclist.

Eryn Carman (Ensemble), being an Army brat, grew up all over the world, but has called Colorado Springs home for fifteen years. She received her BA in Music in Vocal Performance from UNC. Some of her favorite roles include Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, Nurse/Mrs. in Sunday in the Park with George, and most recently, Mrs. Potts in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. She is blessed to be part of this wonderful cast in The Music Man!   

Karen Vasil Carolan (Eulalie Shinn) has performed with FACTC, Opera Theater Of The Rockies, TheatreWorks, About Town Dinner Theater, StarBar, and the Iron Springs Chateau. Roles: Jeanette in The Full Monty, Reno Sweeny in Anything Goes, Katisha in Hot Mikado, Willa in True Brunettes, Matron Mama Morton in Chicago, Bloody Mary in South Pacific, Mother Superior Mary Regina in Nunsense, Yenta in Fiddler on the Roof, and Mrs. Pierce in My Fair Lady. Thanks to Bernie, Cleopatra, and Nefertiti for their love and putting up with the hysterics of theatre.

Skip Cochrane (Ensemble) has performed around the world in choirs, musicals, oratorios, and opera workshops. Most recently, he sang the role of Mendel in Upstart Theatre’s production of Falsettos. He is pleased to be making his debut at the Fine Arts Center. Other theatre credits include The Sound of Music, Bring Back Birdie, Guys & Dolls, Side by Side…, and Jekyll & Hyde. Huge thanks to Ems for all your love and understanding and to Colin for all your support!

Justin Colvin (Ensemble) is very excited to be back with the FAC Theatre Company. He made his first appearance here as Buddy “Keno” Walsh in The Full Monty. He was a principal dancer with The High Altitude Dance Ensemble (HADE) and has been in many productions, such as Dracula, Grease, Romeo and Juliet, and many more. Justin would like to give special thanks to The Famous for their continuous support!

Sue Dougherty (Mrs. Paroo) is a talented character actress. This is Sue’s first show with the FAC. She has performed in several other theatre productions, including Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, Plaza Suite, Oliver, and Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. She appeared as a stand-up comedienne at Comedy Works in Denver. Sue is currently working on her first screenplay. She is thrilled to be part of a wonderful cast and crew. She is excited to see her “Broadway” dream come true.

Jimmy Ferraro (Marcellus Washburn) made his Broadway debut in Fiddler on the Roof. National and international Fiddler Tours with Herschel Bernardi, Paul Lipson, Georgio Tozzi, and Fyvush Finkel. Off Broadway in Valhalla, Krazy Keys, and in his one man show The Funny Man. Other New York credits include: Chicago, Guys & Dolls, Applause, Hello, Dolly!, Oliver, Man of La Mancha, and Jesus Christ Superstar. Favorite roles: Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Nicely-Nicely in Guys & Dolls, Sancho in Man of La Mancha, and the list goes on …

Allen Gasper (Ewart Dunlop, Ensemble) is a former professional opera singer and has performed locally with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and in venues all over the world. He received his Operatic Performance degree from Loyola University and continued a Master’s in Vocal Performance at Baylor University. Allen has sung the past ten years with the Saturday Evening Post Quartet. Along with his wife, Lori (a concert pianist), Allen has been a fixture in the Colorado Springs music scene for the past 25 years. Allen is the Senior Partner of the Gasper Law Group, a prominent criminal defense and divorce/family law firm in the Springs.

Ericka Gasper (Ensemble) returns to the Fine Arts Center stage after appearing in The Full Monty and A Christmas Carol. Other favorite credits include:  Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Crazy For You, Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, and The Sound of Music. She performed in character entertainment at Walt Disney World and now works in juvenile diversion at the Municipal Court. As always, she is thrilled to be part of this production.

Michael E. Gold (Harold Hill) appeared on Broadway at the Martin Beck Theatre as Rooster in Annie. Off-Broadway he performed the role of Drake in Annie Warbucks and appeared at Playhouse 91 in Give My Regards to Broadway. National Tours include Annie and Oklahoma! Audiences may remember him in the recent production of La Cages Aux Folles at the Arvada Center, where he won both a Henry Award and an Ovation Award. He also starred in Denver Center Attractions’ production of I Love a Piano, for which he also received an Ovation Award. Regional credits include Goodspeed Opera House, T.U.T.S., 5th Avenue Theatre, and the Kansas City Starlight. Michael currently maintains an interior design company with projects including The Medical Center of Aurora, Kaiser Permanente and multiple residential clients. Michael would like to thank Alan Osburn for making a dream come true and to Cory Moosman for the guidance. He dedicates his show to the memory of Joe and Trish Hovorka and to the girls @ 3984, Christine and Sadie!

Bobby Gray, Jr. (Oliver Hix, Ensemble) is a veteran of 65 shows of The Music Man, performing the role at Fifth Avenue Theatre in Seattle, Washington and Theatre Under the Stars in Houston, Texas. His career as a barbershop quartet singer has spanned over forty years, highlighted by winning the Barbershop World Championship in 1985. He is a chorus director, musical arranger, International Barbershop Judge, and has performed around the world with The Saturday Evening Post Quartet.

Amy Henss (Ensemble) would like to thank God for blessing her with this amazing opportunity! This is Amy’s debut at the FAC after a twelve year hiatus from theatre. Favorite prior theatrical roles include Sandy (Grease), Babe (The Pajama Game), and Hodel (Fiddler on the Roof). Amy is currently a Neonatal and Pediatric Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital. Special thanks to her very supportive friends and family, especially her wonderful children and her “Someone” and best friend, husband Michael.

Sally Lewis Hybl (Marian Paroo): Last seen as Mrs. Cratchit in A Christmas Carol, Sally is thrilled to be onstage with such an amazing cast. Favorite recent roles include Cinderella (Into the Woods, PPAC Best Actress, Denver Post Ovation Nomination), Celeste (Sunday in the Park), and Anna (The King and I). Special thanks to Alan, Cory, Ro, Mary, Brantley and the entire team in black. As always, love and thanks to all the friends and family for the support, and to the real music in her life – Kyle, Logan, Mal, Liam, and Aidan. This one’s for Daddy.

Natalie Jensen (Ensemble) is thrilled to be a part of this amazing cast, crew, and production team! Regional credits: Belle in Beauty and the Beast, A Christmas Carol (FAC); A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Beauty and the Beast, Gypsy, South Pacific (CDP); Jekyll & Hyde (Arvada Center); A Fireside Christmas (Fireside Dinner Theatre). Steve Jordahl (Mayor Shinn): This is Steve’s first production with the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, although in college he was in a production of The Music Man. For the last five years, Steve has been a part of the Madrigal Singers at Glen Eyrie Castle. He is also a lead singer at Woodmen Valley Chapel. Steve makes a living on the radio as the Senior Correspondent and Associate Producer for Family News in Focus.

Shannon Kaye (Ensemble) has a true passion for the performing arts. She has been a featured soloist with the Santa Fe Symphony, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Glen Eyrie Madrigal Singers, New Operafestival di Roma, and Opera Theatre of the Rockies. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to make her debut with the Fine Arts Center and would like to thank her family and friends for all of the love and support that they constantly give her.

Danielle Kinney (Ensemble) is thrilled to be back at the Fine Arts Center where she began her musical theater career seven years ago, appearing as the youngest child in The King and I. Most recently, she appeared as Bet in Rampart High School’s 2008 production of Oliver. Danielle has a passion for all things theatrical, including singing, dancing, and acting. In addition to tap and ballet experience, Danielle is a champion Irish dancer and competes at the national level.

Ryker Lutjens (Ensemble) was four years old when he first appeared on a runway – modeling Harley Davidson clothing. In addition to the role of Lame Boy in New Life Church’s production of The Thorn, he has been the youngest Cratchit child and most recently Tiny Tim in Woodmen Valley Chapel’s production of Scrooge, the Carol With An Attitude. Ryker is a second grader at The Classical Academy. He collects treasures – the rustier the better.

Ryan Miller (Ensemble) is absolutely thrilled to be a part of his first musical at the Fine Arts Center. Before his debut here, Ryan has been seen as the Beast/Prince in Beauty and the Beast as well as Sky Masterson in Guys & Dolls at Lewis-Palmer High School. He wants to thank his friends and family for being so supportive of his endeavor. He also wants to thank the cast and crew for being so wonderful.

Matthew Newton (Charlie Cowell) was last seen in the FAC’s production of The Full Monty. Prior productions at the FAC include:  The Pirates of Penzance, La Cage …, The Sound of Music, Phantom, Cinderella, Oklahoma! and The Fantasticks. Matt performed with The Star Bar Players in Hay Fever and with Encore Theatre Company in Greeley in Blithe Spirit. With About Town Theatre he performed in The Legacy of Cuervo Gold and Social Security.

Ken Robinson (Jacey Squires US, Ensemble) is happy to return to the FAC and the opportunity to work with S.E.P. Previous shows include The Full Monty, LPC, Pirates, and Sunday in the Park with George. He has performed in regional theatre, dinner theatre, theme parks, and cruise lines. Favorite Roles: Malcolm in The Full Monty, Ken/Lamar in Godspell, and Jinx in Forever Plaid. Thank you to all of my family and friends for their support and encouragement. All my love to TDB.

Neika Lyne Rosenberger (Ensemble) is proud and happy to be appearing in another Fine Arts Center Production. She was previously seen in Beauty and the Beast as well as Company, Lady in the Dark, and Little Women at Colorado College. Every appreciation to family and friends who have always been so supportive.

Milton Sommers (Ensemble) returns for his eleventh production at the FAC, having last appeared as Marcus Lycus in Forum. Favorite roles include King Sextimus in Once Upon a Mattress, Abner in 42nd Street, and Marley in Scrooge. Other credits include Damn Yankees, Phantom, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, My Fair Lady, The Fantasticks, and Kiss Me Kate. He would like to thank his family and the crew at Tweeds Furniture for allowing him to indulge his passion!

Sam Teets (Ensemble) is elated to be a part of The Music Man. You may have seen him last year in the FAC’s production of Beauty and the Beast. As president of his school’s chapter of the thespian society, he also participates in school productions, which include: Lloyd Dallas in Noises Off; Lazar Woolf in Fiddler on the Roof; and most recently, R.F. Simpson in Singin’ in the Rain. Thanks to his friends, APC, CB, and family.

Shelby Ruth Thompson (Ensemble): The arts are Shelby’s passion, especially singing, dancing, and acting. She has been performing for a very long time. Since the age of three, she’s held many lead roles and solos in various performances annually. Currently, in her school choir show she has a solo. She is a hard worker and knows she can accomplish anything, and is very thankful for the opportunity to be in this show.

Halee Towne (Ensemble) is proud to be a part of her fourth production with the FAC. She most recently appeared as Pam in The Full Monty. She also had the FANTASTIC opportunity to perform with Shirley Jones in September in My Favorite Things – A Tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Pikes Peak Center. Halee is a 2007 graduate of the London School of Musical Theatre and now teaches at North Elementary and PPCC.

Rachel Turner (Zaneeta Shinn, Dance Captain) is excited to make her debut performance at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Colorado credits include the following: Arvada Center: La Cage Aux Folles (Anne), The Buddy Holly Story (Mary Lou Sokolof), A Wonderful Life (Ruth Reynolds Bailey); Town Hall Arts Center: Fiddler on the Roof (Chava), The Hobbit (Gollum), My Fair Lady; Lake Dillon Theater Company: Chicago (Liz); Bear Valley Church: The Gifts of The Magi (Della). I love you Francis!

Holly Volstad (Ensemble): Music, theater, and the arts have always been passions of Miss Volstad. You may have recently seen her in Urinetown as Hope with TheaterWorks at UCCS or in the FAC’s A Christmas Carol. Originally from Alaska, Volstad moved to pursue her degree in Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Her passion for theater grows with every show and she is thankful for the support of friends and family.

Jack Walker (Ensemble) is thrilled to participate in his second show with the FAC Theater Company after appearing as Chip in Beauty and the Beast. Jack is a seventh grader at Eagleview Middle School’s Academic Arts Academy and is grateful to the awesome teachers at The daVinci Academy for uncovering his passion for the performing arts. He’s thankful to God and to his family and friends for their continued encouragement and support.

Brooke Wallinger (Ensemble): A seventh-grader at Mountain Ridge Middle School, Brooke is thrilled to be making her debut at the Fine Arts Center. And after appearing as Jack in Into the Woods and Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown — both with alleycat Theatrics — she’s even more thrilled to finally be playing a girl. Brooke would like to thank Roxanne Lingle for giving her a voice and her family for giving her wings.

Sean Weller (Ensemble) is ecstatic about his FAC debut! Fresh off the stage from Eagleview Middle School’s Les Miserable School Edition (Enjolras), he’s also enjoyed performances in Seussical Jr. (jojo), The Secret Garden (Colin), Disney’s Jungle Book (Mowgli), and Into the Woods (Baker), all with Alleycat Theatrics. In addition to musical theatre, Sean enjoys Irish step-dancing, piano, French horn, forensics speech and debate, skiing, and traveling any chance he gets. He sincerely thanks his family for their support.

Tom Wilkie (Olin Britt, Ensemble) is a thirty-plus year “barbershopper” and veteran of sixty shows of The Music Man in both Seattle, Washington and Houston, Texas. Tom and his wife Julie moved to the Springs a few years ago so he could sing bass with Saturday Evening Post (the school board). Tom also sang bass with past international quartet champions The Most Happy Fellows. When not singing, Tom is a logistics specialist for Entegris, Inc.

Patrick Yukman (Ensemble) is excited to be returning once again to the FAC stage. This is his seventh performance at the SaGāJi Theatre; earlier roles include Peter Cratchit in A Christmas Carol and Grandpa Vanderhof in Youth Repertory Theatre’s You Can’t Take It With You, as well as stagehand work for this season’s Biloxi Blues and The Full Monty. Patrick would especially like to thank his entire family, the Killians, Logan, and Katy for their continual support of his theatrical endeavors.

Orchestra Bios

Richard Clark (Percussion): Enjoying his eighth year as drummer/percussionist of the FAC Theatre Company’s musicals, Richard, an alumnus of Berklee College of Music in Boston, and Dick Grove Music Workshops in LA, teaches drums and piano, writes songs and gigs with many area venues. His multi-track concept-band "Novena Boy" now has three CDs internationally distributed on iTunes and CDBABY and has over 65 videos/songs viewable on YouTube. Infinite gratitude goes out for and to his talented family: wife, Bonnie, sons, Paul and Will, and all the incredible folks he is blessed to work with and for.

Rick Crafts (trombone) has been a member of the FAC Theatre Company’s orchestra for the past 13 years. He graduated from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, majoring in trombone. Rick began his musical/military career in 1969, as lead/solo trombonist, with the NORAD Band, he then moved to the AFA Band, where he retired in 1996. While performing worldwide, Rick had the opportunity to appear with Bob Hope, Sammy Davis Jr., Andy Williams, Diane Schurr, The Four Freshmen, and more. Rick also performs with well-known big bands, such as both Dorsey bands, Frank Fanelli, Springs Contemporary Jazz Big Band, and others. Rick is low brass instructor at CSU-Pueblo, as Artist in Residence, and is Principal Trombonist for The Pueblo Symphony. Rick freelances with many other musical groups in the region.

Bob Dunn (woodwinds) is pleased to again play for a Fine Arts Center production. He is a veteran of numerous past REP shows and loves working with this orchestra. In addition to 30 years of professional performing, Mr. Dunn taught instrumental music for 27 years and was a high school administrator for 4 years prior to his retirement in 2003. Bob is an expert woodwind instrument technician and has his own shop, Black Forest Woodwinds, where he specializes in flute, clarinet, and saxophone repair.

Jay Hahn (Bass) is excited to be back for his ninth season as the bassist for the FAC Theatre Company productions. Jay keeps busy as a freelance musician throughout Colorado as well as playing with his own bands, Nightshift and Pecos River. His conducting credits at the FAC include The Pirates of Penzance, which won the Denver Post’s Ovation Award as Best Musical of 2006, and The 1940’s Radio Hour. Jay feels blessed to be able to work with the friends and incredible fellow musicians that make up the pit orchestra. Thanks to Alan Osburn for continuing to support live music at the FAC, and a special thanks to his four daughters: Jessie, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Mackenzie for their love and support. Jay would like to dedicate this season in memory of his mom, Helen.

Fred Martinez (Reeds) is pleased to again play for a Fine Arts Center production and loves working with the terrific musicians in the orchestra. After 30 years in public school education, Fred has devoted his time to studying, making southwest style jewelry, and being a grandpa.

Mark Rose (Reeds) is happy to perform in the pit orchestra for The Music Man. Mark has performed with the Temptations, the Four Tops, and Ed Ames. While a student at the University of Miami, Mark performed with Maria Schneider, Randy Brecker, David Liebman, John Fedchock, and Clare Fisher. Mark was a staff musician for Celebrity Cruise Lines this past summer, where he sailed from Barcelona to Venice. Mark has also performed with Denver bands Heartbeat, Boogielicious, and Jump Start; and with local musicians Ken Miller, Brad Bietry, and the Brazilian group Mistura Bela. Mark is looking forward to performing with his wife, Roberta Jacyshyn, and their group Blue Sky. Mark is a band teacher in District 11 at Keller, King, Martinez, and Scott Elementary Schools.

Chris Walters (Trumpet) hails from Marion, Ohio. He became lead trumpet, soloist, and leader of the prestigious USAF Falconaires. Under his leadership, this group headlined major jazz festivals in the US and Canada. Chris has been lead trumpet with such jazz greats as Louis Bellson, Natalie Cole, The Four Freshmen, and Dianne Schuur. He has also performed with the Temptations, John Denver, Barry Manilow, and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra. Chris would like to thank the Fine Arts Center for supporting this wonderful live pit orchestra.

Production Staff Bios

Cory Moosman (Director) is an actor, writer, and director. He was last seen onstage as Dave in The Full Monty, and he most recently directed Lend Me a Tenor. Other directing credits include Beauty and the Beast; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; Topdog/Underdog; Side Man; Blues in the Night; To Kill a Mockingbird; Glengarry Glen Ross; and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest with author Ken Kesey. He has taught at the Colorado Music Fest-Pueblo, the Vocal Performance Institute at ACC in Denver, the Colorado Springs Conservatory, Colorado State University-Pueblo, and the Bemis School. He is the author of the radio spoof series Rick Luger: Private Dick. “Love to Day.”

Roberta Jacyshyn (Music Director, Conductor, Keyboards) has been involved in theatre for over twenty five years and is thrilled to be back at the FAC. During the daytime hours she educates students in Academy School District Twenty and challenges them every day to explore their musical talents. At night she satisfies her theatre addiction at the FAC. Because of recent real estate catastrophes, she and her husband Mark plan to be around for an indefinite amount of time. She considers herself fortunate to have such great support from friends and family. Que sera sera!!!

Mary Ripper Baker (Choreographer) is thrilled to be involved again with the FAC Theatre Company. She choreographed The Full Monty, Beauty and the Beast, Sunday in the Park with George, A Christmas Carol, Into the Woods, The 1940’s Radio Hour, Anything Goes, and was the assistant choreographer and performed the leggy Cyd Charise role in Singin’ in the Rain. Mary graduated Magna cum laude with a BFA in Modern Dance from Texas Christian University (as a Nordan Fine Arts Scholarship recipient) and is recognized for her choreography and technical versatility. Mary has performed, choreographed and taught throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex as well as her hometown of Houston where she danced as a founding member of Suchu Dance Company. Since 1999 she has been a member of Ormao Dance Company and her work has been showcased in Denver, Ft. Collins, Aspen and throughout the Pikes Peak region. Mary is adjunct dance faculty at Pikes Peak Community College. As a certified Pilates instructor, Mary owns and operates her studio, Motion Studies. Mary enjoys her mountain home in Cascade with her husband, five year old son, and three year old daughter.

Kathy Voecks (Scenic Design) is currently an Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at Kansas State University. She was the resident scenic designer and charge scenic artist for the Omaha Theater Company for Young People and Omaha Theatre Ballet for four years before returning to graduate school to study scenic design with internationally known designer John Ezell at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Recent designs include Big River and Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure at the Black Hills Playhouse, My Name is Rachel Corrie for Martin Tanner Productions in Kansas City, and the premiere production of Swing, Swing, Swing!, a WWII-era big band ballet, for the Omaha Theater Ballet.

Tonya R. Moake (Lighting Design) is very happy to be working in theatre back in her hometown of Colorado Springs. The Music Man is her first design at the Fine Arts Center since moving back from California. Tonya previously designed lighting for The Secret Garden at the FAC in 2004. Tonya has her master’s degree from the University of California-Irvine and has worked in theaters all across the country, including The Chance Theater and South Coast Repertory in Southern California, The Jefferson Performing Arts Society in New Orleans, and The Utah Shakespearean Festival. She has also designed lighting for a number of special after-party events for MTV and Comedy Central while working with an architectural and special events lighting firm in California. Steve Stevens (Sound Design) is well known for his composition, musical direction and sound sculpture for theatres in Colorado and New York. Some of his notable works include Denver University’s Medea: A Noh Cycle; Columbia University Theatre’s Off-Broadway Pelleas and Melisande; The Changing Scene’s Alexander and Road; Denver Center Theatre Company’s Man and Superman; and Albany’s Capital Repertory Theatre’s Don Juan, Always … Patsy Cline, Forever Plaid, Our Town, A Christmas Carol, Terra Nova, and Dinner With Friends; Arvada Center’s Rounding Third,  Intimate Apparel, The Full Monty, Jekyll & Hyde, Narnia, Of Mice and Men, The Buddy Holly Story, and many others. Steve grew up in Colorado Springs and is a graduate of Palmer High School. When not working in theatre Steve builds and flies experimental aerobatic airplanes.

Jessica Rose (Properties Manager) is in her fourth season at the FAC Theatre Company. She has been involved in many productions here over the last four years, as both a scenic artist and as Properties Manager. Some of her most recent shows include Lend Me a Tenor, The Full Monty, A Christmas Carol, Biloxi Blues, Fuddy Meers, and Beauty and the Beast. Jessica also spent the last two summers as a Scenic Artist for several operas with the Aspen Theatre Center’s 2007 and 2008 seasons of the Aspen Music Festival.

Brantley Scott Haines (Stage Manager) holds a BFA in Theatre Performance Studies from CU-Boulder. He has worked backstage on the FAC productions of Taffetas, It’s A Wonderful Life, Hot Mikado, and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. This is the tenth show he has stage managed for the FAC, preceded by the productions of The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Little Shop of Horrors, Much Ado About Shakespeare, Brigadoon, Brighton Beach Memoirs, A Christmas Carol, Sunday In The Park With George, and Working.
