Theatre Journeys
- Ages 10 - 13
- June 28 – July 2 & July 5 – July 9 (2 weeks, Monday through Friday)
- 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Music Room
This two-week workshop for 10-13 year-olds will focus on learning the basics of musical theatre and expanding upon theatre experience. Students will explore multiple aspects of this amazing craft ... the very basics of stage direction, script development, audition preparation, stage management, technical direction, makeup, movement ... the list goes on and on. And it all culminates in a brilliant final performance!
During the class, students will hone their theatre skills through improvisation exercises, theatre games, and discussion with guest artists. They will also practice time management, hard work, discipline and respect. Each student will be encouraged to build upon his/her own talents and experience in a supportive, creative, safe environment. As the name of the class implies, this is a journey we will take together; each of us will be an important member of the theatrical team, valued for our unique skills and talents, celebrated for what we create when we work together.
By the end of the class, students will have a basic understanding of:
- The basic dos and don’ts of an audition
- Stage direction
- History of musical theatre and its purpose
- Stage makeup
- Bio and headshot
- Choreography
- Stage Management
- Intro to tech
- Monologue
There will be a presentation of the work achieved on Friday, July 9 at 5:30 p.m.
Tuition
$320 for FAC members | $340 for non-members

Payment for Theatre Journeys must be made in person at the Fine Arts Center Box Office. Please print and complete the following required registration forms:

All registration forms must be completely filled out, signed, and handed to a Box Office Representative prior to making payment.
Registration will begin Tuesday, March 16 and will stay open until the class is full. SPACE IS LIMITED.
