In their "ongoing quest to take you behind the scenes of everything," KRCC's The Big Something posted a new audio slideshow about installation of the huge sculptures for The Baroque World of Fernando Botero, narrated by curator Tariana Navas-Nieves. One fan commented that this was the "best installment of this series yet." Watch and listen here.

A tour of artist Pat Musick's home - from KRCC
KRCC just debuted a new web-only feature called The Big Something. The first story was on a Colorado Springs artist with ties to the Fine Arts Center, Archie Musick, and his eclectic Garden of the Gods house. Brighton Beach Preview
Performing Arts director Alan Osburn sat down to talk about the FAC Theatre Company's season opening production, Brighton Beach Memoirs, which he is directing. The play by Neil Simon opens October 12 in the Fine Arts Center's SaGaJi Theatre.

KRCC interview FAC's Sylvester Smith on jazz
Sylvester Smith, known as 'Smitty', is a long-time Fine Arts Center employee and Colorado Springs native who has seen many of the jazz legends from Portraits from the Golden Age of Jazz perform live. KRCC: Springs art scene at a tipping point
The FAC’s Tariana Navas-Nieves participated in a panel for the “Incubator” series at the UCCS Gallery of Contemporary Art on April 12. KRCC’s Noel Black was there, and he filed this report. Has Colorado Springs reached a tipping point? The FAC and the Extremely Grand Opening in August were mentioned as catalysts to move the arts scene forward in the right direction. “That’s what I’m hoping that the Fine Arts Center will really become a synonym or symbolic of a new era, a new renaissance in the arts in the Colorado Springs area,” said Navas-Nieves.Download (5:51) | Listen:
KRCC is having their annual open house this Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the station at 912 N. Weber. They’ll have BBQ, bands and a bounce-house and it’s all free.
