Why did you become a member of the Fine Arts Center?
My first art lessons were when I was 10 years old – a long time agoJ. Our family has been members on and off for many many years.
When did your interest in the arts begin?
As children we had artists in our family and friends, but it mostly started at Bemis where the atmosphere was so inviting, warm and inspiring.
What has been one of your favorite plays, classes or exhibits at the Fine Arts Center and why?
I love all the ceramics classes most, but I got to be in some of the plays as a kid that were held in the FAC. I go to the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival every year as well.
What is your favorite work of art at the FAC?
We love the visiting artists like Chihuly and the more recent airbrush artist (Don Coen) who did the migrant worker paintings.
What else do you like to do for fun in Colorado Springs?
We hike, go to museums, find places to hammock, challenge ourselves to go up Pikes Peak every summer, and enjoy First Friday Art Walks in Colorado Springs and Denver.
