2010-2011 Season Schedule:

An Ideal Husband
By Oscar WildeOct. 8 – 24, 2010
Set in modern times, this dazzling blend of farce and morality revolves around the lives of two men, a successful political figure, and his philandering friend. The world of these men is turned upside down by the arrival of old acquaintance who has come with blackmail in mind. As the plot thickens, it’s revealed that the man thought to be perfect is flawed, the man with all the flaws must do something right, and the question remains, what makes an ideal husband? It is a delicious puzzle to be unraveled where virtually every character is revealed to be not at all what they seem. “Sooner or later,” Wilde notes, “we shall all have to pay for what we do.” And yet, he adds, “No one should be entirely judged by their past.”

The Producers
Book by Mel Brooks and Thomas MeehanMusic by Mel Brooks
Lyrics by Mel Brooks
Jan. 28 – Feb. 20, 2011
THE PRODUCERS is the winningest Broadway musical in history. Nominated for 15 Tony Awards, the show won 12, breaking the record previously set by Hello Dolly in 1964. On London’s West End it also won the Olivier Award for Best Musical. This outrageous, hilarious, edgy, off the wall musical is based on the 1968 Mel Brooks cult classic film, THE PRODUCERS. You will find yourself holding your sides with laughter as Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom sing and dance their way through the greatest show biz scam that there ever was.
“It is, to put it simply, the real thing: a big Broadway book musical that is so ecstatically drunk on its powers to entertain that it leaves you delirious, too.” – New York Times
This production contains adult language, adult situations, and is not suitable for anyone who is easily offended or for children under the age of 17.

The Women
By Clare Boothe LuceMarch 25 – April 10, 2011
The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center was founded by three courageous women in the spring of 1936. One of these visionary women invited dozens of her friends from back east to be a part of the opening festivities. In that same year, Clare Boothe Luce wrote a brilliant contemporary comedy that immediately assumed the status of a modern classic that is an immensely entertaining panorama of our modern metropolitan world from the feminine viewpoint in 1936. The plot involves the efforts of a group of women to play their respective roles in an artificial society that consists of vain show, comedy, tragedy, hope, and disappointment. What better way to look back on what was on the minds of many of the women who came to see what

American history blazes to vivid life in this unconventional family-friendly Broadway hit musical. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical, 1776 is a funny, insightful, and compelling musical drama that puts a human face on the pages of history.
