9 to 5: The Musical

Music and Lyrics by Dolly Parton | Book by Patricia Resnick
Based on the 20th Century Fox Picture | Originally produced on Broadway by Robert Greenblatt, April 2009
Regional Premiere! MAINSTAGE

May 19, 2016 – June 12, 2016

The hilarious new musical based on the blockbuster film. Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical boss. They conspire to take control of the company and learn there’s nothing they can’t do, even in a man’s world! 9 to 5: The Musical is a story of friendship and getting ahead in the Rolodex era. Outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic, 9 to 5: The Musical features Dolly Parton’s original hit title song, along with her new Tony and Grammy-nominated score, including Backwoods Barbie and Shine Like the Sun. (Dolly Parton has won seven Grammy Awards from 46x nominations. She has the most nominations of any female artist in the history of the prestigious awards, a record tied by Beyoncé in the nominations for the 55th Grammy Awards.)

This production is a part of the summer long celebration of Women Who Wow. A series featuring special events, lectures, art workshops, and more.

Success is out there for the taking

Inspired by the overall theme of women empowerment in 9 to 5: The Musical, the FAC is proud to partner with the Women’s Resource Agency to provide professional clothing to women in need in our community. Join in our professional clothing drive for the Women’s Resource Agency by dropping your clean, in-season, professional clothing at the FAC now through June 12.

The Women’s Resource Agency has been empowering women and teen girls to self-sufficiency and economic independence since 1972. This past year, women who got jobs with their help earned combined incomes of over $10,000,000.
