Whatever your artistic interest and whatever your age or skill level, we have classes to drive your passions at the Fine Arts Center’s Bemis School of Art, a year-round facility. Experienced artists and art instructors, large studios and limited class size create a motivational and supportive environment to explore and develop your talents.
The Fine Arts Center grew out of the foundation of the Broadmoor Art Academy, and our art school honors that legacy by striving to recruit instructors at the national level. One example would be Sundance Film Festival award-winner Tom Shephard (Scouts Honor), who offers a number of documentary classes.
We’re also proud of our school’s outreach efforts. Thanks to a partnership with AspenPointe, we offer art-therapy classes geared toward the military and their families, helping them process the after-effects of war. Another partnership with AspenPointe has reached out to victims of the Black Forest Fire, helping them turn their charred family treasures into works of art.
Take a moment to browse our catalog, and you’re sure to find the perfect class to tap into your greatest artistic potential.
We offer courses for all ages and skill levels, including drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, mosaics, jewelry making, art history, photography and more.
We offer a wide array of family-friendly activities including a quarterly Family Adventure Days.
While the existing kiln-power of the Bemis clay studio is completely adequate for our current needs, expanding the program is impossible without adding new devices.

Talented in Art Program
We offer Gifted and Talented in Art programs for School District 11, for grades 3-5. For over 25 years we have offered programs to teach high levels of art standards. Multiple week art classes in varied mediums culminate in an art show and reception for the students who participate.
